Round, warm, and slightly toasted, Saint Honore by Nicolai reads like a fantastic cool weather skin scent. The lactonic notes of milk and vanilla pair beautifully with the nutty hazelnut and rich amber, while the musk allows the composition to remain airy and dry. The top note of pepper opens the fragrance, rather than making it spicy, and lends a leanness to the creamy sandalwood at the base. Saint Honore is an elegantly sweet fragrance that gives "quiet luxury" in a realm of syrupy, overly decadent gourmands, and is a must-have for anyone dipping their toe into new, sweeter territory.
LP's Take: We can't get enough of Saint Honore. The hazelnut and milk combo, along with a light vanilla, create a warm and inviting fragrance that's definitely in the "skin scent" category, while solidly maintaining its "gourmand" status. But it has enough ambery richness to make an impact, moving beyond either category.
