Monoscent G is a denatured alcohol solution of an IFF captive molecule Galaxolide S.
 
The original Galaxolide® was discovered by Dr. Beets of IFF in 1957. Inspired by the goal of simulating the scent of nitro-musks, it took years of dedicated research to transform the idea into a viable commercial ingredient. The resulting Galaxolide emerged as an exceptional musk, offering an impressive balance of quality and cost-effectiveness.

In the 1986 National Geographic magazine Smell Survey, which involved 1.5 million participants, approximately three-quarters of women and two-thirds of men were able to detect the scent of Galaxolide.

Introduced internally at IFF in 2007, the Galaxolide S molecule builds upon the long-lasting and clean qualities that made the original Galaxolide one of the most popular fragrances in the world. It enhances product quality by delivering exceptional performance across all categories. In particular, it excels in fragrance applications, where it adds depth and fullness to compositions.
