Alessandro Gualtieri is back with a long awaited novelty from Orto Parisi: RISVELIUM
 
The name: Risvelium means vigilance or awakening in Italian.
 
The scent: green, aromatic with a peculiarly addictive dirty dry down that has become a signature for the brand and Gualtieri’s creations.

LP’s Take: Alessandro Gualtieri is absolutely one of the most eccentric and fascinating characters in the perfume world and his fragrances are nothing short of mold breaking. But we gotta say, Risvelium was a complete surprise. Yes, yes, there are his signature quirky notes, in this case literal dirt…like the fresh stuff , perhaps after a spring rain, in which you were digging with your bare hands, of course, and also happened  to yank up a bit of green ivy or maybe the root of a tree. The through line of Orto Parisi is here too, as the aldehydic musk in so many of his perfumes, but this time it’s rather sharp, somewhat similar to his Megamare perfume of the same line, but with Risvelium the freshness verges on metallic. Its cutting. Perhaps even electric, like lightening in a summer storm or a wind tunnel swirling with metal shards and dirt. The biggest surprise for us, however, is the heart of fruit: pineapple and black currant. These friendly additions, more in line with mainstream perfumes and not artistic performance pieces like Gualtieri’s, give a loveliness, almost vacation vibe to what is otherwise austere. On skin we perceived it as a literal pineapple Mojito: crushed ice, aromatic mint, and the celebratory pineapple. It put a smile on our faces. A true work of art and not to be missed if you are a fan of this wild wizard, Alessandro Gualtieri!
